Government announcement on next year’s exams
Most A-level and GCSE exams in England will be delayed by three weeks next year due to the pandemic, it has been confirmed.
The exams will go ahead but they will be delayed, Education Secretary Gavin Williamson said.
This is “to give students more time to prepare and catch up on education lost due to Covid”.
The news looks set to spark controversy after the current cohort has lost six months of in-school learning.
Gavin Williamson said: “Today I can confirm that GCSE, AS and A level exams in 2021 will go ahead, with most exams moved back three weeks”
