Vigil after 3 Doncaster women murdered in 13 days
A vigil against domestic violence is to be held in Doncaster tomorrow following the murders of 3 local women in 13 days.
The lives of Michelle Morris, Amy Stringfellow and and as yet unnamed Mexborough woman will all be honoured.
A vigil will be held in Elmfield Park from 3pm tomorrow, Saturday 13 June.
The Women’s Lives Matter demonstration will also remember all other victims of domestic violence.
Michelle Morris, 52, was fatally injured at a property in Ramskir View, Stainforth area, on 24 May.
After suffering serious head injuries, she died in hospital three days later.
Two men, aged 33 and 47, and a 24-year-old woman have all been arrested on suspicion of murder, and subsequently released on bail pending investigation.
Amy Stringfellow, 26, died at a house in Dryden Road, Balby on June 5.
A 45-year-old man, Terence ‘Tez’ Papworth has been charged with her murder and is due to stand trial in November.
Meanwhile, two men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a third woman who was found dead in Mexborough.
South Yorkshire Police have not yet named the 28-year-old.
The men, aged 27 and 33, were arrested at the scene and remain in custody.
