Teenager arrested in connection with violent incident on Welholme Road
Humberside Police have reported that a teenage boy has been arrested in connection with a violent incident on Welholme Road.
Police were called to Welholme Road in Grimsby after neighbours raised the alarm yesterday afternoon at around 2:10pm.
Emergency services and armed response were on the scene by 3pm.
A 19 year old man was arrested on the scene, but officers have now reported that a 17-year old teenager has also been arrested.
It is not thought that anybody was injured, but Humberside Police confirmed that weapons, drugs and cash were recovered.
Detective Inspector Kerry Bull said:
“We understand that this incident will have caused alarm to those who live in this area or were nearby at the time but we believe this to be an isolated incident.
“Luckily, no one was injured and our teams were quickly able to make an arrest and recover a machete.
“The boy remains in our custody at this time and we still have officers in the area to provide reassurance. If you have any concerns, please feel free to speak to them.
“Anyone with information can call our non-emergency 101 line, quoting log number 294 of 31 May.”
