By North East Lincolnshire Council have confirmed that the bus lanes on Scartho Road will be removed in a new trial.
The trial removal of the bus lanes will take place by an experimental traffic regulation order (ETRO) which will be in place for a maximum of 18 months; however a review of the bus lane removal will take place in six months.
The removal of the bus lanes is aimed to reduce congestion and improve vehicles journey times for road users, particularly during peak hours when traffic volumes are higher.
The works to remove and install the new lining along with the necessary signage works will take place from Monday 2 December and be completed by Friday 13 December. The ETRO will be operational from Monday 9 December and will come into force once all required road marking and signage works are completed, which is weather dependent.
To allow the works to be completed with minimum disruption to road users the works will be completed under overnight temporary lane closures between 7pm and 6am.
While works take place access to properties and businesses will be maintained, but there may be short periods of time when this may not be possible. Access to and from Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital will be maintained at all times.
North East Lincolnshire Council and its partner ENGIE would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these works.
