Arrests and charges in connection with modern day slavery, weapons, theft and motoring offences

Hull and East Riding

Six people were arrested for a number of different offences on Wednesday 13 November.

The tireless work done by our north bank proactive team based in Hull has resulted in 26 arrests in just seven days since Wednesday 6 November.

Yesterday’s results are as follows:

– A wanted 17-year-old youth arrested for two shop thefts after being spotted on Buckingham Street. He was charged with two counts of the theft of chocolate and make-up. He can’t be named because of his age.

– Dwayne Pedder, 40, of Eastgate in Goole was charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, criminal damage, and assault.

– A vehicle was seen being driven by a known individual on 5th Avenue. The man saw the officers, tried to drive off but crashed the car into a lamp post at slow speed. He was arrested. No-one was hurt. Callam Jordan, 20, from 21st Avenue in Hull has been charged with driving while disqualified and with no insurance.

– Three men were spotted by officers in a vehicle on 7th Avenue. Suspicions were raised following a conversation with officers about the reasons why a fourth man was in their vehicle. The three men were arrested on suspicion of modern day slavery and are still in custody.

So, since last Wednesday, 12 people have been charged in total for numerous different offences. That’s nearly half of all the people arrested by our proactive team.

We will keep acting on information we already have and which is brought to us to find anyone who might involved in criminal activity in our communities.
