Update: Man Arrested relating to Weelsby Road incident

A 50-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of assault causing Actual Bodily Harm, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police following a collision on Weelsby Road, Grimsby.

Humberside Police  were called by the ambulance service at 9.30pm yesterday (Saturday, October 26) who were treating a woman who had been assaulted in the Albert Road area of Cleethorpes.

The suspect was said to have left the scene in a black Seat Leon, which was spotted by officers in the Weelsby Road area and failed to stop when requested.

Seconds later, the Seat collided with a silver Vauxhall, which was parked at the side of the road.

The occupant of the Vauxhall suffered potentially life threatening injuries and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

Anyone who saw the Seat prior to the collision is asked to call the non-emergency 101 line, quoting log number 541 of October 26.

 

 

Update: On Weelsby Road incident in which a man suffered serious injuries.

A man has been left seriously injured after a car that was being pursued by Police, crashed into the mans parked car.

The incident happened on Weelsby Road at approx 10pm last night.

A black Seat Leon failed to stop for police and sped off and then crashed into a Silver Vauxhall that was parked on the side of the road with one person inside.

It is believed that Police had tried to stop the car because they believed that the driver was involved in an assault on Albert Road, Cleethorpes which had left a woman injured.

It is believed that the person from the parked car was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

Humberside Police are believed to have arrested a 50 year old man on suspicion of  assault causing actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and failing to stop following a collision.

Anyone who saw the Seat before the collision is asked to call the non emergency 101 line quoting log number 541 of October 26th.
