New Police team set up to target criminals in North and North East Lincolnshire.
A new police team has been set up named Humberside Police Operation Galaxy. It includes officers from a variety of departments in the force.
They will be working around the clock to catch criminals of all types including county lines, drug gangs, burglars and robbers.
They will work in North and North East Lincolnshire The Team is aiming to pinpoint offenders and will be using intelligence and information before they take action. They will take action to put measures in place to stop crimes from happening again.
Police say that Operation Galaxy has been active for about a week and is already producing results. The team has executed warrants in Grimsby, Cleethorpes, and Scunthorpe. Which has lead to over £7,000worth of Cash and approx £18,200 worth of drugs being seized.
They have arrested 17 people on drug-related charges, seven due to a high risk of harm and one for acquisitive harm.
The new team consists of detectives, officers, staff from major crime, road policing, intelligence, police dog handlers, economic crime, and various other teams.
