New Exciting project –

A new development has arisen within the region, which is estimated to make an additional £1 billion a year for the areas financial system.

This project details a 6 mile road, starting at the Hessle foreshore, all the way to the city’s eastern docks. It is predicted this project is going to cost around £1.5 billion, but in the long run the benefits will be remarkable.

This development is going to open around 14,000 jobs, as well as be a money making project. This will also act as a long term flood protection for the majority of Hull, so the benefits are geographical as well as the social and economical positive impacts.

The proposal includes:

  • To reduce port traffic, a 4 lane road along a six mile route in the estuary.
  • A brand new outer harbour which will be a huge advantage to the port business.
  • A non-tidal lagoon which runs the length of Victoria dock to St Andrews Quay
  • Acts as flood defences along the waterfront protecting low lying Hull.

If this proposal is agreed, this project will be the biggest transport development in the area, similarly to the construction of the Humber Bridge back in July 1972. The building works themselves are expected to take 5 years to complete.
