The Woman Who Wants To Raise £1 Mil From Poppy Appeal

Gemma Leaning, the new leader in charge of the Poppy Appeal, wishes to raise £1 million for our ex-forces.

Her aim is to keep Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe some of the top ten towns to contribute

with fun raisers for her ambitious target of £1 million.

Along with leading the Royal British Legion, she will continue to play a key role in preparing for the annual military displays each summer

as she plans to keep volunteering at the Armed Forces Team at the Knoll in Cleethorpes.

Recently, Gemma graduated university with BA honours in tourism and business management at

The University Centre at Grimsby Institute,

now she is taking care of 129 poppy selling organisations

spreading from Barton to the border of Cambridge.

Right now, Gemma is preparing events and displays in Freshney Place, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco in both Grimsby and Cleethorpes and Aldi on Cambridge Road.

As well, 750 runners are expected to show up at the annual Brigg 10K this year, the money raised going to the Royal British Legion.

Finally, the annual Remembrance Service will continue on Sunday, November 10 at Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Immingham, Waltham, Healing,

Killingholme, Holton-le-Clay, Louth and Mablethorpe, Caistor and Market Rasen.
