Many men have no close friends.

Many men have no close friends.

A study has found that nearly one in five men have no close friends and a third of men have no best friend.

Most women are happy to chat away at exercise classes or at the school gates. But men find striking up friendships more of a challenge.

The survey by YouGov found that even though men have fewer friends they were less likely to admit to being lonely.

For many men friendships which are formed in the workplace are key, but it can lead to isolation in retirement. Men are also more likely to live alone in later life. It is very important that men take the time to take part in activities and hobbies and catch up with friends.

So don’t complain when your partner spends to much time on his hobbies he needs them to form friendships!
