Restaurants told to give diners doggy bags to cut down food waste.
In a government-backed crusade to cut the 1 million tons of food waste that comes out of commercial kitchens every year which is worth £3billion. Restaurants, pubs, and hotels are being encouraged to use smaller plates, cut portion sizes and offer doggy bags for leftovers.
Pubs, restaurants, hotels, and catering companies are being challenged to cut waste. The campaign has been co-ordinated by waste charity Wrap.
They also urge people to play their part if you never eat certain parts of a meal such as side salads, Vegetables or garnishes you should ask them to be left off the plate. Diners should also be encouraged to ask for a doggy bag to take leftovers home.
