Man charged with £10,000 Hull damage

Man charged with causing £10,000 worth of damage and five other offences

A 34-year-old man who took to the roof of a business in Hull last week and caused an estimated £10,000 worth of damage has been charged with a string of offences.

Gary Cawthorn of no fixed abode was charged with causing criminal damage in relation to the incident on on Church Street on Wednesday 21 August. He was also charged with a robbery on the same day.

He was on the roof for some six hours before he came down.
He’s also been charged with two counts of robbery and one of actual bodily harm on Thursday 1 August, and one count of robbery on Tuesday 20 August.

Gary Cawthorn has already appeared at Hull Magistrates Court and remanded.
