Looking for a confidence boosting victory, Cleethorpes Cricket Club travel to Tickhill on Saturday where they have a chance of completing a league double over the Doncaster area side.

The two sides met at Chichester Road in May when Cleethorpes avenged a cup defeat and collected maximum points from the 4 Probate & Wills ECB Yorkshire South Premier League encounter.

In that May encounter Louis Kimber scored his second century of the season as the Meggies rattled up 264-7 before restricting Tickhill  to 200-9.

If they are going to repeat that sort of score on Saturday they will have the skills of an international opening bowler to contend with. Binura Fernando, a 6’7” Sri Lankan Test player has joined up with Tickhill since the last encounter, and has collected 22 wickets since his arrival.

Callum Carter, who was unavailable last week, returns to the Cleethorpes line-up which is he only change from last week. Captain James Osmond will be looking for a continuation of the batting form of Tom Rollinson (pictured) which has seen him hit two half centuries from his last three innings. Kimber is also due for some runs now that he is back from injury and during the week he hit 43 while playing for Kent 2nd XI against Glamorgan. He will also be hoping for some runs from his own bat after enduring a very lean spell.

With some difficult games on the horizon it is imperative that points are gathered in quickly if the side is to avoid sliding further down the league table.
