Moody lane improvements update – second phase completed

The second phase of works on Moody Lane will be completed on Monday 29 July and Woad Lane, between Laforey Road and Moody Lane, will be reopened to vehicles.

The project is progressing well, both on time and budget, and will see a number of improvements for those working in the area. This includes improved travel to work times and safer options for sustainable travel such as cycling and walking.

Following this second phase of works there will be temporary traffic signals in place between Woad Lane and Gilbey Road, 7am-6pm for nine weeks.

Once the main footway and cycleway drainage works are complete the traffic signals can be removed and resurfacing works will be carried out under overnight road closures.

So far work which has been completed includes:

  • Replacement of kerbing and reconstruction of the carriageway and footway on Woad Lane between Allington Drive and Estate Road 1
  • Replacement of street lighting along Woad Lane and Moody Lane
  • Carriageway resurfacing and footway widening on Woad Lane between Laforey Road and Moody Lane.

The project is due to be completed by December 2019.

Advanced warning signs and signed diversion routes will be put in place during the closure.
