Cleethorpes now turn their attention on sides at the wrong end of the table

After a series of matches against the top 5 teams in the 4 Probate & Wills ECB Yorkshire South Premier League, Cleethorpes now turn their attention on sides at the wrong end of the table.

On Saturday they meet Hallam who look doomed, even at this stage of the season, having fallen 32 points from safety, and only a complete reverse of form will prevent them being relegated after two seasons at the top level.

Following the Hallam fixture Cleethorpes will welcome Wickersley Old Village to Chichester Road. The Wickersley club presently occupy the other relegation spot in the league table due mainly to inconsistent performances. Unlike Hallam they are within touching distance of several clubs, including Cleethorpes, and will be keen to put a run of wins together and escape the drop.

Saturdays game against Hallam will not be played on the Sheffield sides historic ground. Due to safety issues they are unable to play their ECB League games on their Sandygate Road ground. Consequently all home games are being played at Crimicar Lane which is a short distance away. It will be Cleethorpes first ever visit to the ground, and they hope it will a successful one which will boost their chances of avoiding a late scramble to move away from danger.

Cleethorpes games against Hallam have been successful. Last term they completed a double over the Sheffield side and then knocked them out of the league cup. This season the league game at Chichester Road was ruined by rain with Cleethorpes going at over 3 an over, without loss, before the game was abandoned after just eleven overs.

Alex Osmond returns to the Cleethorpes side for the trip to Sheffield at the expense of Max Taylor, otherwise the side is the same as the one which came so close to defeating Aston Hall last Saturday
