By After losing by 5 wickets against second placed Wakefield Thornes, they now face the formidable task of travelling to meet league leaders, Doncaster Town, on Saturday.
At the end of May the Meggies took away Doncasters unbeaten tag when they comprehensively won by 121 runs at Chichester Road. The star performer in that outstanding performance was Lee Charlton who led his side from the field after returning bowling figures of 6-48.
Cleethorpes Captain, James Osmond, will be hoping his batsmen can repeat their contribution to that victory which saw his side record their highest score of the season. Both Louis Kimber and Basheeru Walters completed half centuries in the total of 257-6, supported by an undefeated 39 from Joe Baker, while the skipper himself made 35.
Louis Kimber is expected to be fit to resume his position in a side which will be unchanged from the one chosen for last week’s game against Wakefield Thornes.
Although Cleethorpes will be hoping to complete a double over the leaders, Doncaster will be seeking to avenge their previous defeat which remains their only league loss of the season.
Doncaster Captain, Luke Townsend, will want his side to illustrate their capabilities, and remain unbeaten on their Town Fields ground this season. Yorkshire batsman Bilal Anjam and Duncan Heath have been his sides major run scorers to date, with the competitive James Stuart also making some important contributions. In the Chichester Road encounter only Heath hit major runs, and Townsend feels this is where his side will be more prepared for the return fixture.
Pakistan all-rounder Aamir Jamal heads the bowling list with 21 wickets, just 4 ahead of spinner Duncan Heath, who continues to illustrate his value to the South Yorkshire side. The attack also includes Lincolnshire opening bowler Curtis Cheer, and Yorkshire 2nd XI player Jack Shutt who missed the Chichester Road game where skipper Townsend came on late and captured three wickets.
