Highway and footway improvements starting on Estate Road 2, Grimsby

Works to carry out highway and footway improvements on Estate Road 2, Grimsby are nearly complete.

Work started in February this year and the damaged kerbs and gullies have now been replaced and footways have been reconstructed.

The only remaining work is the reconstruction of areas of carriageway between Estate Road 8 and Estate Road 6.

This will require excavation of the existing carriageway and damaged areas will be replaced with new stone foundations and tarmac layers.

A full road closure of Estate Road 2 between Estate Road 6 and 8 will be required for these works to be completed.

This will be carried out over four weekends to reduce the impact to businesses and road users.

These closures will take place on the following dates:

  • Friday 7June, 6pm to Sunday 9 June, 6pm
  • Friday 14 June, 6pm to Sunday 16 June, 6pm
  • Friday 21 June, 6pm to Sunday 23 June, 6pm
  • Friday 28 June, 6pm to Sunday 30 June, 6pm

All affected businesses have been contacted and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Advanced warning signs will be erected on site nearer the time to notify people of the upcoming closure periods.

North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works and again would like to thank road users, residents and businesses for their patience during these final stages of the project.
