Woman in hospital after A16 lorry crash

A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash between a lorry and car on the A16.

At around 6.45am near to the Brackenbrough Hotel, just outside of Louth, a two-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a car took place.

The road was closed this morning whilst emergency services were on the scene.

It is currently thought that only one person has been injured as a result of the collision and emergency services and recovery vehicles remain on scene.

The road remains closed in both directions and motorists have been advised to avoid the area. It is yet unclear as to whether anyone else has been injured as a result or how severe the woman’s injuries are.

In a statement, Lincolnshire Police said: “At 6.46am on 27 October we received reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a car on the A16 near to the Brackenborough Hotel. EMAS are on scene and there is known to be one female injured at the scene who has been taken to hospital.

“The road is closed in both directions as recovery vehicles arrive on scene to clear the road. We would advise people to avoid driving through the area if possible.”
