HUGE results in this week’s Tuesday Pool League!
The match of the evening came at Mulligans as second placed Trojans entertained Fu Cue. The hosts failed to capitalise on a 4-1 lead as the visitors rallied back to draw 6-6, keeping both teams in their respective positions.
This week’s Showman’s derby was won by league and cup double winners Army as they needed a deciding frame victory from Matt Peacock to overcome Scunthorpe under 21s champion and recently newly capped Lincolnshire C County player Ashton Atkinson (aged 13) of Chaos.
Broughton Club Pirates maintained their position in fifth edging out promoted Redbourne Mods 8-5.
Showman’s Cobras move out of the relegation zone for the first time this season with a 9-3 win over Back in Black Beauty who remain rooted to the bottom of division 1 whist reigning division 2 champions fall into the bottom two for the first time this season following a heavy 9-3 defeat at 6th placed Beacon A.
Mulligans Majestic Sausage Dogs overcame an early scare at home to Mill Road Black Cats to eventually win 9-3, opening up a four-point gap at the top of division 2.
Braces from former Greens rugby scrum half Woody and Lee Fairweather (winning his 10th frame of the season maintaining his unbeaten start) inspired las dachshunds to their sixth consecutive league victory.
Showman’s Improvers remaining in second spot drawing away at fellow promotion chasers RAOB 6-6. Ashby Crown A picked up their first win of the season with an impressive 7-5 win over promoted side Winterton Jubilee.
Cocked Hat B also stay in the hunt for a promotion place coming away from Messingham Crown as 8-5 winners. Black Beauty A did their survival holes a world of good winning 8-4 against 9th placed Glenny’s Poachers, opening up a ten-point safety margin in the process.
Showman’s Rat Outcasts got the result of the day in division 3 this week as they came away from Cocked Hat with a 10-3 victory to go three points clear at the top.
Last season’s team KO plate runners up will be wanted to avenge their defeat to Fedoras by winning the league at the expense of the second placed Ferry Road side who drew 6-6 away at fellow promotion chasers Mulligans Tight Rack.
Also, in joint second come Showman’s Spartans who wrapped up a 9-4 at bottom placed Liberal Club. Pig & Whistle may also contend for promotion this season as they’re hitting form at the right time with another victory, this week winning 9-4 at ninth placed Chancel Flyers.
Hopping out of the relegation zone go Harry’s Bar A with their second win over the season away at division 5 champions Old Farmhouse.
Someone’s pools coupon will have came in somewhere as three results in division 5 we’re score draws this week.
Mulligans Youth avoided defeat for the first time this season coming away from Broughton WMCA with a share of the spoils.
Schnapps A stay in contention for promotion with a draw at RHH Hospital Club whist Redbourne Madness (pictured) aren’t too far behind in fourth following their draw with Chancel. Top spot is shared by both Bottesford Town A and Mulligans ST this week as both managed superb 9-3 victories over Redbourne NnC and Jolly Sailor respectively. This keeps the sailors in the relegation zone.
Showman’s Hornets maintain their unbeaten start to the season with a 7-5 over struggling Talbot to remain a point clear at the top of division 5. Just one point behind are Mill Road Dynamite in second who won their fourth game of the campaign away at Beckwood Bombers.
Ashby Crown B have thrust their way into the promotion picture winning 9-4 away at Butchers of Winterton.
Showman’s Young Ones also stay in the hunt with an 8-5 win at bottom placed Roxy Rack Em. Mill Road B have gone from possible relegation strugglers to possible promotion hunters with an 8-4 win over Black Beauty B, putting a dent in the Beauties promotion aspirations.
Harry’s Bar Harriers move 7 points clear in division 6 but needed a deciding frame win over Beacon Old Boys.
Beckwood failed to take advantage of this narrow victory by losing away at Beacon Rats 7-5 who move up to fourth.
The Foxhills derby went in favour of the Bulldogs as they registered an 8-5 away win at their club mates. The battle of the bottom two went in the favour of Scunthorpe Bowl who have got off the mark with their first win of the season, winning 8-5 away at fellow strugglers Brumby Hall B.
Mill Road DM stay just two points clear of the relegation zone following their draw with Schnapps Retro
Bottesford Town Club B registered the biggest win of the week in division 7 with a 10-3 away win at Mulligans Spurs.
The big game of the evening was at third placed Keadby Club as they entertained fellow title rivals Schnapps reloaded. The fixture ended up even Steven’s which keeps Schnapps three points off the top and Keadby seven points but with a game in hand.
Mulligans Unique scored their fifth win of the season away at Grosvenor to maintain top spot for another week. Schnapps Retro A scored their second win of the season at home to bottom placed Priory whist the Retro B’s also registered a victory against title chasing Lord Roberts.
