By Duo becomes World Champions at Freestyle Adult Championships!
Two young locals have won big at the Freestyle Adult World Championship at Blackpool Winter Gardens.
Yazmyn Holness and her dance partner, Lauren Young, became Freestyle World champions yesterday.
Speaking about her daughter Yazmyn’s Achievement, Michelle Holness said:
“My daughter Yazmyn Holness and her dance Partner Lauren Young yesterday became Freestyle Adult Championship World Champions at Blackpool Winter Gardens.
They dance for Mayfair Dance Academy in Grimsby, Hannah Knight the school principal is their Pairs Teacher.
Yazmyn and Lauren have only danced together since January this year, they both had partners who retired last year.
Hannah (Knight) the school principal is Lauren’s dance teacher and she put the two of them together.
“They are currently unbeaten in Fast and Slow pairs but to win the World Championships is something we really didn’t expect. “
“My daughter Yazmyn’s solo dance teacher Lisa Rendall has been her rock for the last 6 years since she started and is her second mum.
“Mayfair Dance Academy is a family and the support for each of the dancers this weekend has been incredible
“Also a huge well done to Leona and Justice from A&M’s, also a Grimsby dance school for making the final too.”
