North Lincolnshire village holds Jubilee themed scarecrow festival
A North Lincolnshire village held a wonderful Jubilee themed scarecrow festival.
Gunness, near Scunthorpe, organised a Jubilee scarecrow festival which saw hundreds of intricately designed scarecrows displayed around the village.
Gunness & Burringham Primary School allowed their students to walk around and judge scarecrows that and been entered into the competition, before the festival concluded this afternoon!
Residents were asked to erect their creations in public view and provide contact details to the school which allowed the students to go house to house analysing each scarecrow.
Throughout the week, residents took to social media with amazing pictures showcasing what had been made – each post was decorated with words of support.
One local commented on a collage of scarecrows from around the village, saying:
“Absolutely amazing, well done to everyone for their time, effort, creative ideas, hard work and taking part”
“Amazing to hear the kids giggling yesterday in the village! Well done everyone”, added another.
The images that have come out of the event illustrate the amazing work that has been put into each and every creation! – here are some of our favourites:
