The new Scunthorpe Tuesday Pool League campaign returned this week!

The new Scunthorpe Tuesday Pool League campaign got underway this week with Mulligans Trojans leading the way in division 1 following their 11-2 win at Black Beauty.

Newly crowned division 2 champions Brumby Hall started life in the top-flight with a 7-5 victory over Redbourne Mods, the side they pipped to the title. The first Showmans derby of the season went in favour of Fu Cue as they won 9-4 versus Cobras.

League and cup double winners Showmans Army got off to a great start, winning away at Beacon 9-4 whilst regular top 4 finishers Chaos defeated Broughton Club.

Showmans Improvers and RAOB started off life in division 2 with comprehensive 12-0 and 12-1 victories over Glennys Poachers and Ashby Crown respectively. The 12-0 victory for Improvers was the first whitewash victory of the season.

Newcomers Mill Road Black Cats made their debut in style, winning 9-4 at Messingham Crown. The two promoted teams had contrasting fortunes as Mulligans Majestic Sausage Dogs tasted defeat at Cocked Hat losing 8-4 whist Winterton Jubilee beat relegated Black Beauty A 9-3.

Relegated Mulligans Tight Rack will be aiming for a swift return to division 2. The visitors started off in the correct way, winning 10-3 at promoted Harrys Bar A. The battle of the champions went in favour of reigning division 5 champions Old Farmhouse as they edged out division 4 and team ko plate double winners Fedoras 7-5.

Chancel Flyers have resumed their hot second half form from last season with a 7-5 win against Crowle Liberal Club whilst Cocked Hat B made it a double victory for their venue following a 9-4 win at Pig & Whistle

Redbourne Madness have justified their position in division 4 and lead the way following a fantastic 11-2 win against former stable mates Mulligans Youth. Madness were late newcomers to the league last season joining in round 2 and once more demonstrating they’re not here to make the numbers up.

Bottesford Town A, Schnapps A and Mulligans ST all share second spot with 9 points following wins against Jolly Sailor, Chancel and Redbourne A respectively. Broughton WMCA also started the season with a win against RHH Hospital Club.

Division 6 champions lead the way in division 5 as they started off the new campaign with a 9-3 win against Butchers of Winterton. Division 7 champions Showmans Hornets came away from Roxy Rack ‘Em with a draw following their double promotion.

Newcomers Mill Road Comets won the Mill Road derby 8-5 against the B team. Promoted Black Beauty B won their opening game 8-4 against Beckwood whilst relegated Talbot began life in division 5 with a draw at home to Ashby Crown B

Four points separate top from bottom in a closely contested division 6 as division 7 runners up Foxhills Bulldogs lead the way winning 8-4 versus Beacon.

Beckwood Sex Panthers and Schnapps Elite tie up second spot as they both managed 7-5 victories against newcomers, Harrys Bar Harriers and Brumby Hall B respectively. Four teams sit in the middle of the table all on 6 points as Beacon Rats vs Foxhills Club and Mill Road DM vs Scunthorpe Bowl both finished as draws.

Grosvenor B appear to find life much easier in division 7 as the relegated side find themselves top of the league following an outstanding 11-1 win against newcomers Schnapps Retro B.

Lord Roberts occupies second spot beating newcomers Priory 10-2. Schnapps Reloaded, who very kindly played their tie at Mulligans this week to accommodate a new team predominantly consisting of under 18 players. However, they weren’t as kind on the table as Reloaded came won 9-3 in ruthless fashion.

The third Schnapps side ‘Retro A’ weren’t as fortunate at Mulligans this week as they were unable to avoid defeat losing to Unique 7-5, whist two other newcomers faced off at Jolly Sailor as the hosts won 7-5 against Bottesford Town B.
