Humberside Fire and Rescue send engines and equipment to Ukraine
Humberside Fire and Rescue have donated equipment and fire engines to fire services in Ukraine as the Russian invasion continues.
Over 100 fire stations have got involved in ‘Fire Aid 4 Ukraine’ which has seen countless fire engines and vital equipment delivered to fire stations in Poland to be sent across to Ukraine.
Since February, Ukraine has been fighting an ever-growing battle against Russia as Russian forces attempt to take over the country.
In the ongoing invasion, 100 fire stations in Ukraine have bene destroyed by Russian forces, making the risk to life eaven greater than it already is.
These vehicles and the equipment will mean Ukraine’s brave emergency services can continue to help their residents and all those in need.
Sharing the mission on Twitter the Home Office said: “100 fire stations have been destroyed by Russia. We’ll continue to support Ukraine & are proud to see a 2nd FireAid4Ukraine starting the 1,000 mile journey to deliver vital firefighting equipment to Ukraine.”
Humberside Fire and Rescue’s convoy sucessfully arrived in Poland on Monday where it will now be delivered by Polish firefighters to Ukrain.
In their excitng update they said: “They’ve done it, our FireAid4Ukraine team have safely handed over the engine and equipment along with other Fire Services for Ukraine firefighters. Here’s a recap of the last couple of days of their journey. Well done everyone.”
