Violent man demanded and ‘pinned’ grandmother to wall
It is reported that two Grimsby families had the man demanding drugs and a place to sleep from them.
A 64-year-old grandmother was assaulted viciously by the man, Nathan Waterman, 33.
It is understood that the man battered down her door and assaulted her whilst demanding drugs.
After inflicting the ordeal on the woman, Waterman is then understood to have invaded another residence whilst brandishing a knife.
He used the knife to threaten the homeowner stating he needed a place to stay.
Waterman admitted to charges of grievous bodily harm and assault last year, March 14th.
Prosecuting, Richard Butters said: ” She knew the incident was not going to end nicely and tried to offer him money. He kept shouting he wanted his drugs and started whacking her head against the wall, punching her arm”.
He left the premises and returned after the victim closed and locked the door, though he returned and kicked it down.
The woman was assaulted again after Waterman forced down the door.
” He simply did not care and continued to shout and kick”. said Mr. Butters.
He then barged into the residence of another couple before assaulting the husband and again showing his knife for intimidation.
Police were called and arrested the man on the scene.
Judge Michael Fanning said Waterman had left both families in terror.
“This was a brutal and random attack on a middle-aged woman”.
The court was told of his previous conviction for assault on a stranger.
Waterman was jailed for five years.
