Twist and Shout for St Andrew’s Hospice danceathon!

Break out those tap shoes just in time for the St Andrew’s Hospice danceathon 2022!

Taking place tomorrow ( Friday 25 March) from 10 am till 10 pm, the danceathon promises to be fun for all the family as the hospice raises money for their wonderful cause.

After taking place virtually during the pandemic, the danceathon will this year be taking place at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre. However, those who are more vulnerable can still take part virtually from home.

Grab your favourite frock, tutus, headbands and glow-in-the-dark outfits as you can dance the day away to help the hospice raise money for all the vital work that they do.

There are no age or ability restrictions, only that you and others stay safe during the event.

The hospice communications team’s Erica Shek, who will be coordinating the digital event, said: “If people are taking part at home, they need to have plenty of space to dance in and for everyone, make sure you drink a lot of water.  Know your limits, and don’t crash into the sofa!

“At the leisure centre, we will be hoping to create an electric atmosphere that will be felt by the participants at home, or wherever they may be taking part.  It will be a fantastic event.”

Caitlin Brewitt, Charity Fundraiser and Events Co-ordinator said: “I’m super excited about the Danceathon 2022! I’ve never done a full, 12-hour dance event before, so I am up for the challenge.  I am particularly looking forward to everyone participating in the Bollywood, Salsa and Burlexercise classes!

“This year’s Danceathon will be a fun and exciting event for everyone taking part, whether you are joining us at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, or you are dancing with us virtually.”

The Danceathon is a sponsored event, with no minimum sponsorship amount.  Every penny raised makes a huge difference to the patients and families at St Andrew’s Hospice, from hospice care for people with life-limiting illnesses to support for their families.
