Three rushed to hospital after Grimsby Road crash
Humberside Police have now confirmed that three people have been taken to hospital after a road traffic collision this morning.
This morning locals were left worried after Grimsby Road was closed between Tiverton Street and Daubney Street after a crash.
According to police, a vehicle collided with pedestrians near the junction of Barcroft Street.
Although those involved have not been named, it has been suggested that two children were involved.
One local shared the news to Facebook, writing: “Grimsby Road is closed between Tiverton Street and Daubney Street, emergency services are on the scene. Hope everyone is okay.”
Another witness responded with: “See on other sites it’s two school kids, I hope to god they are alright.”
Other witnesses stated that paramedics were on the scene attending to a pedestrian.
The road closure has now been lifted as the three have been rushed to hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for Humberside said earlier: “Police Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, at around 7.45am this morning (Tuesday, March 1).
“It is reported that a vehicle was in collision with pedestrians near to the junction with Barcroft Street. Three people have been taken to hospital for treatment on their injuries.
“Grimsby Road has been closed between Park Street and Tiverton Street and a diversion is in place to allow emergency services to carry out their duties. We would advise motorists to avoid the area if possible.
