Woman killed in tragic caravan fire
A woman has been confirmed to have died following a fatal caravan fire in North Somercotes.
Emergency services were called to reports of a large blaze on Donna Nook Road at 6:21pm on Saturday the 19th of February.
Sadly, a 61-year-old woman was killed in the incident.
Two other people were also injured as a result of the blaze.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “We are on scene following a fatal caravan fire where a 61-year-old woman has sadly died.
“We were called to the fire at Poplar Farm in Donna Nook Road, North Somercotes, at 18.21pm last night (Saturday 19 February) by colleagues at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue.
“A man in his 60s was also in the caravan and was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, and one further man who was not in the caravan suffered an injury to his leg trying to help.”
How the fire began is currently unclear.
Officers are investigating, and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
