By Update as Gilbey Road fire rages on
Humberside Fire and Rescue crews are still tackling a fire which broke out on Gilbey Road Industrial Estate, according to the latest update.
The large blaze broke out late last night.
Firefighters from a number of local stations were called to the site in Grimsby.
The ‘large fire’ has created a large amount of smoke in the area, prompting Humberside Fire and Rescue to issue a warning to residents in the area, many of whom have been urged to remain inside and keep all windows and doors closed to avoid smoke inhalation.
This morning, a spokesperson tweeted: “CONTROL – We are currently dealing with a large fire on Gilbey Road, Grimsby.
“There is a large amount of smoke in the area, local residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed.”
