Over £200k of drugs seized from Scunthorpe properties

Officers from Humberside Police uncovered over £200,000 worth of drugs from three Scunthorpe properties yesterday (15 December) after carrying out warrants.

Warrants were carried out at three different properties on Mulgrave Street, Scunthorpe.

Over 200 plants were found in the first two properties, with a further 259 plants discovered at the third.

In total over 400 plants were uncovered across the three properties, amounting to a street value of over £200,000.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis and will remain in police custody whilst investigations and enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers from both the local Neighbourhood Team and Op Galaxy carried out warrants at three properties on Mulgrave Street, Scunthorpe, this morning [Wednesday 15 December 2021].

“Around 140 cannabis plants were found and seized across two properties, with these cannabis plants holding a value of around £70,000 in total.

“Further rooms were located where an extra 88 plants were starting to grow, in each property, with this being worth approximately £80,000 per property.

“Around 259 plants were also found and seized at another property on Mulgrave Street.

“Two men have been arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis. They remain in our custody whilst investigations and enquiries continue.”
