Waltham House Care Home found ‘inadequate’ by inspectors
In a report carried out the Care Quality Commission, Waltham House Care Home has been found ‘inadequate’ by inspectors in terms of safety.
The report gives scores on five categories for each home they investigate.
Waltham House Care Home has received an ‘inadequate’ grading, the lowest grade available, in terms of safety and leadership.
For effectiveness they received a ‘needs improvement,’ while they received ‘good’ grading for care and responsiveness.
These grades were given after an unplanned visit from the CQC took place on June 10.
Concerns raised in the report include poor staffing levels at night, no oversight of the safety and quality of the service and medicines not being managed safely.
The report states that: “The last rating for this service was good (published 22 February 2020) at this inspection the service is rated inadequate.”
“The inspection was prompted in part due to concerns received about pressure care and the organisation
and leadership of the service. A decision was made for us to inspect and examine those risks.”
“The overall rating for the service has changed from good to inadequate. This is based on the findings at this inspection. We have found evidence that the provider needs to make improvements.”
