Grimsby Hospital looking for volunteers
Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby is calling for volunteers to be based in their reception area, welcoming and aiding patients and visitors alike.
The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust runs Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole hospitals which are always in need of volunteers.
Volunteer Coordinator Vicki Andrews said: “Our volunteers are an integral part of our team and we’re now recruiting more people into these valuable roles.
“We’re on the lookout for people who are friendly, enjoy being active and want to make a difference to people’s lives.
“If you’re looking for a fast-paced volunteering opportunity, in which you will meet people from all walks of life, this opportunity could be for you.
“This particular volunteering role requires someone with the energy and enthusiasm to work at the front entrance as well as walking to and from other areas across the large site such as the new car drop off point, nursery car park and bus stop when required.”
Vicki added: “It can be difficult visiting a new hospital or one where things have changed since your last visit.
“Our volunteers are as important as ever as they support our patients and visitors during these changes and beyond.”
Other volunteers could work on the wards or as part of their admin team.
All participants will be fully trained and assisted by the voluntary services team.
Just a few hours a week would be extremely helpful during these busy times.
The hospital allows volunteers to work flexible hours on either weekdays or weekends, but you must be aged 17 or above to apply.
All volunteers reportedly undergo a DBS check and must be cleared by occupational health before they can be accepted for the roles.
They also have to pass the Trust’s staff Covid-19 risk assessment.
