The Iron sign a one-year deal with Harry Bunn

Scunthorpe United FC signed the 28-year-old last Friday following a three week period with the Iron which had seen him train right from the start of pre-season and impress in the friendly victories over Barton Town and Burton Albion.

The versatile forward player started his career as a trainee at Manchester City.

Speaking to iFollow Iron Harry said: “I’ve enjoyed it. The lads have been excellent and really welcoming. I’m looking forward to getting the season going now and hopefully we can get plenty of wins and have a good season.

“I came in for the first day of pre-season and it’s been one of the toughest I’ve done, which is a good thing. I’ve enjoyed it. They don’t get any easier but it’s been enjoyable and it gets you fit and excited for the season as well.

“Pressing is something we’ve worked on in training and hopefully when the season starts we can do that for 90 minutes and really get on top of sides, putting them under pressure.”

Bunn has made over 200 senior career appearances and made his mark at Championship and League One level for the likes of Huddersfield Town, Sheffield United and Bury.

Bunn went on to add: “I want to be playing in the EFL and have played against Scunthorpe in the past, and know it’s a good club where the fans get behind the team and I can’t wait to play in front of them for the first game of the season (against Swindon Town).

“I think we have good characters in the changing room and backroom staff. and there’s a real good togetherness there. If we stick together and implement the ideas we’re working on, we’ll be good to go.”
