Investigation launched after Wellington Lane robberies

Humberside Police officers have launched an investigation after two women were robbed on Wellington Lane, Hull.
The two separate incidents took place on Sunday 9 May and Wednesday 12 May.

It is reported that on Sunday 9 May at 4:40pm a woman was approached by an unknown man who knocked her to the floor and forcibly took her handbag.

The man managed to make off with a large quantity of money and valuables.

On Wednesday 12 May, at approximately 1:10pm, another woman was approached by the same man.

Her handbag, phone and cash were stolen.

The suspect has been described as mixed race with dark hair and facial stubble. He was wearing a black puffer style jacket at the time of both incidents.

He is believed to be in his 30’s.

Neither of the women sustained serious injuries, but both been left feeling very shaken.

Detective Sergeant Andy Bradley said:

“We are continuing to conduct extensive enquiries to identify the man in connection with these incidents.

“We recognise an incident of this nature will understandably concern the community. Those living in the area can expect to see an increased visible presence over the coming days. If you have any concerns please speak to our officers.

“We are appealing to anyone who believes they were in the area at the time of the incidents who may be able to assist us with our enquiries to please contact us.”
