Man charged with GBH following Rutland Street assault
A 34-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm following an altercation on Rutland Street which left the victim seriously injured and in need of hospital treatment.
It is reported that the two men are known to each other.
This comes after Stephen Bellamy tragically died after he was stabbed by two men in a property on Rutland Street just the week before.
A statement from Humberside Police reads: “A 34-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and was remanded in custody to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday 3 May).
“It is reported that following an altercation between two men known to each other one man was seriously assaulted leaving him requiring hospital treatment.
“Those living in the area can expect to see an increased visible presence over the coming weeks. Officers continue to patrol Rutland Street and the surrounding area, provide reassurance, listen to any concerns.”
