16-year-old boy charged with two robberies and possession of knife

A 16-year-old boy is due to appear in Grimsby Magistrates Court today after being charged with possession of a bladed article, two robberies and two attempted robberies.

The incidents took place on Saturday evening on Cleethorpe Road, Stanley Street and Wellington Street in Grimsby.

Officers are urging anyone who was approached by the boy to contact them, particularly a woman who may have spoken to him in the early hours of Sunday in Cleethorpes.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “A 16-year-old boy has been charged with possession of a bladed article, two robberies and two attempted robberies and has been remanded to appear before Grimsby Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 27 April).

“These incidents are reported to have occurred on the evening of Saturday 24 April 2021, on Wellington Street, Stanley Street and Cleethorpe Road in Grimsby.

“Officers are asking for anyone who was approached by the 16-year-old who hasn’t yet spoken to us, particularly a woman who may have been approached whilst in Cleethorpes town centre in the early hours of Sunday 25 April 2021, to get in touch by calling us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 52 of 25 April.”
