Two men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following Rutland Street stabbing
Two 39-year-old men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing took place on Rutland Street yesterday evening.
The victim, a 36-year-old man, remains in hospital in critical condition.
A statement from Humberside Police reads: “Two men are now in custody following a stabbing on Rutland Street Grimsby.
“A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assaulting a police officer and a second 39-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing on Rutland Street, Grimsby.
“We were called at 6:40pm, yesterday (Saturday 24 April) to Rutland Street in Grimsby. A 36 year-old man was found with serious, life threatening wounds to his head, he was taken to hospital by ambulance where he remains in a critical condition.
“Officers in the area are conducting enquiries whilst the 39-year-old men remain in our custody.
“This is an isolated incident between individuals known to each other with no wider risk to members of the public.
“Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have witnessed the assault or have any information that can help with their enquiries.”
