Grimsby man in custody following 8-month evasion
A man who has evaded Police for almost a year has now been apprehended and is in custody in connection with an assault.
The man was sought after an assault on the Nunsthorpe estate leaving a woman in a serious condition.
Humberside Police have arrested Ashley Hutchinson after searching for eight months, the incident involved the arrest of two men, with a woman being left in a serious condition in hospital after allegedly being stabbed.
The assault occurred in the early hours of the morning along Milton Road, on Grimsby’s Nunsthorpe Estate, on Saturday, 16 April, 2022.
The woman was found in the middle of the road outside the property when police arrived at the scene, where Crime Scene Investigators and officers cordoned off the whole street.
In their original statement, Humberside Police issued an appeal for Ashley Hutchinson in relation to the assault and asked the public not to approach him. They said: “Can you help us find wanted man Ashley Hutchinson?
“Officers are keen to speak to him in connection with an alleged assault in Grimsby on Sat 16 Apr. If you see Ashley do not approach him, instead please call 101 quoting log 3 of 16 April or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
After apprehending Hutchinson, they shared on social media today, December 7: : “Wanted man Ashley Hutchinson has now been found and is in our custody. Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal.”
