Kind locals set up pet food bank as cost of living crisis hits households
One kind woman has shown the kindness of strangers by setting up a pet food bank outside of her house.
Many families this winter are struggling due to the cost of living crisis, with household goods and bills increasing by an enormous amount.
Those with pets are also feeling the pinch, as they struggle not only to feed themselves but their beloved animals.
However, one kind local has created her very own pet bank to ensure no animal goes without food.
Erica Fox has placed a large container outside her home in Keelby filled with a variety of pet food.
She has encouraged those who are struggling to take what they need and for those who have something to spae to please add whatever the can.
The box will be checked daily so no families will ever go without. It can be found at 2 West Lane in Keelby.
Sharing her kind gesture she said: “The box is outside 2 West Lane, it will remain there, currently only got dog food in there at the moment. Wet meat, dried food, treats.
“Please only take what you need, please feel free to add to it if you can. And if you are really struggling and it’s not on there drop me a message and will try and do what we can.
“I will check it daily and stock up when needed. Some food will go into white bags but will be labelled up.”
