Remember a loved one and ‘Light Up a Life’ this Christmas

Remember a loved one and ‘Light Up a Life’ this Christmas

Those who have sadly lost a loved one this year are invited to attend a special event to remember those who have passed away.

St Andrew’s Hospice will hold their annual ‘Light Up a Life’ service this Saturday (December 3) at 4pm to help the community reflect on happy memories.

The Humber Bells Choir will sing popular carols as the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire will open the service with a scroll of remembrance.

The memory garden will then open to the public, with the beautiful lights offering comfort during a time of reflection.

The new, 0n-site coffee shop will also provide delicious treats and drinks as the community comes together at this time of year.

St Andrews Hospice said: “The Christmas season is a time for love, family, friends, and being together, but it can be a difficult time if your life has been touched by bereavement. ‘Light Up a Life’ is a community event which offers the chance for everyone to reflect on happy memories, finding special moments to celebrate those we have loved, whilst helping your local hospice to support people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

“We’d like to invite you to join us for our ‘Light Up a Life’ service, an uplifting opportunity to reflect on happy memories and celebrate those we love. This year’s service will take place outdoors, under the stars, Held at our very own St Andrew’s Hospice, Peaks Lane, Grimsby, DN32 9RP. With popular carols, including a performance from the Humber Bells Choir, readings, and a visit from the Mayor, with the scroll of remembrance displayed.

“There will be refreshments available, including hot & cold drinks, mulled wine & mince pies, provided by our new on-site coffee shop, The Coffee Retreat. In addition, our Memory Garden will be open & lit with twinkly Christmas lights for guests to enjoy a quiet moment of reflection.”

Light Up a Life will take place on Saturday, December 3rd, at 4 pm – The gates will be open from 3.30 pm to close at 5.30 pm.
