By Victim ‘left waiting hours’ after crash
Concerning reports regarding the emergency service response to a crash outside a school in Cleethorpes on Friday evening have begun to emerge.
Police and ambulance services were called to an incident involving a car and a motorcycle outside Bursar Primary Academy on Clee Road at around 8.30pm on Friday 11 November.
Police are reported to have arrived quickly, however reports that a person injured in the incident was left ‘lying in the road’ for up to two hours before an ambulance arrived quickly circulated.
One eyewitness said: “I came across the incident at 21:00 while on my way home.
“I saw the car and bike in the middle of the road then noticed a police officer standing next to something which I then worked out was a person lying in the road.”
They continued, adding that “it seemed strange to me that no one seemed to be talking on sitting down with the person to comfort them and reassure them.
The witness said he remained at the scene for around 15 minutes, conversing with other passers-by, who also said they were ‘shocked’ that the person was “just lying there with no sign of medical attention,” and that “no one showed any sign of comforting the patient”.
“I have since learned the patient was there for over 2 hours waiting for help which is shocking in today’s world,” he added.
East Midlands Ambulance service has been contacted for a statement.
