Family name man who died on Grimsby railway
The family of local man Jonny Harrad, who died in a tragic incident in Grimsby earlier this week, have launched an appeal to raise funds for his funeral.
Emergency services were called to the train tracks near Pasture Street on Thursday afternoon following reports of a casualty. A man was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.
Now, the family have named the victim as Jonny Harrad. Dozens of tributes describing him as a loving, caring beautiful soul have poured in.
Jonny’s sister Sarah Newson has now launched a GoFundMe page asking for help to give him a “good funeral and send-off”. The appeal has already raised over £1,200. You can donate here: https://gofund.me/ff3060cd
Sarah added that her brother struggled with his mental health, with several other tributes urging those in difficulty to reach out.
Our thoughts are with those closest to Jonny at this difficult time.
Anyone who is struggling can to speak to the Samaritans anonymously by calling 116 123 24 hours a day, seven days a week, free of charge.
