Two men arrested after pursuit ends in drugs seizure

Humberside Police attended Stanley Street after spotting a vehicle ‘acting suspiciously’ in the area.

Following their identification of the vehicle, a short pursuit took place involving two men in the vehicle. The incident happened as the men failed to stop yesterday, Monday 26 September, at 4:oo pm on Stanley Street, Grimsby.

Two men were arrested, a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both on the suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

The 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, criminal damage, failing to stop, driving dangerously, driving without insurance, and driving whilst unfit through drugs, possession of Class B drugs, supply of Class A and B drugs.

The 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

Humberside Police said in their statement:

“Two men are currently in our custody following a fail to stop yesterday (Monday 26 September) on Stanley Street, Grimsby at 4:00pm.

“Eagle eyed officers spotted a vehicle believed to be acting suspiciously in the area and following a short pursuit two men were arrested.

“Upon searching the car officers are reported to have discovered a quantity of cash and what are believed to be drugs.

“A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, criminal damage, failing to stop, driving dangerously, driving without insurance, driving whilst unfit through drugs, possess of Class B drugs, supply of Class A and B drugs.

“A 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

“Officers investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses or for anyone with dashcam footage and where in the area at the time of the incident to contact us on 101, quoting log 299 of 26 September.”
