Man left with ‘serious injuries’ after dramatic knife attack

Humberside Police cordoned off areas in Grimsby after a man was stabbed late yesterday evening, leaving a trail of blood to a property.

Sixhills Street, Donnington Street, and Pasture Street were closed for several hours after a man was stabbed and attempted to walk to a property on Donnington Street at around 9.45 pm on Friday, August 19.

It is understood the suspects fled the scene as a police investigation followed at the junction of Pasture Street and Thomas Street.

The cordons were placed around 10 pm, and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: “Police had cordoned off a section of Pasture Street in Grimsby following an incident overnight.

“At 9.45 pm on Friday, August 19, a man has reported to have sustained knife wound injuries in what is believed to be an isolated incident. He has suffered what are thought to be serious injuries and attended hospital for treatment.

“We are in the early stages of our enquiries and are following up on a number of lines of enquiry to identify a man we believe to be involved in the incident. Officers will remain at the scene as we carry out our enquiries and to provide reassurance to the residents of the area.

“We would appeal for anyone who has information or witnessed the incident to call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 544 of 19 August 2022.” The cordon was lifted this morning to allow residents access to the streets.
