Aribim Pepple signs for the Mariners!
Grimsby Town Football Club confirm they have signed striker Aribim Pepple on loan from Luton Town.
Promising youngster Aribim Pepple will play his football at Blundell Park until the end of the season as Paul Hurst continues his mission to bolster his attacking force.
The 19-year-old signed for the Hatters earlier this month after a successful spell with Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC.
Signing his first professional contract with Cavalry in the summer of 2019, ‘Bim’ moved to Spain to join Getafe’s Youth system to further develop his technical abilities before making the move back to Canada earlier this year.
After returning to the Canadian Premier League, Pepple made history after scoring in five consecutive matches, netting an impressive six goals. Shortly after, Luton Town ultimately picked the talented youngster up after impressing the Championship club.
Speaking to GTFC, Bim said he is delighted to sign for the Mariners and aspires to get “regular minutes.”
“I think the biggest thing for me is goals, that is what I am looking to do, but apart from that I am strong, I am fast, I like to get in behind so that is my first option, but I can also help hold up the ball, so that is a bit about me!,” Bim added.
Grimsby gaffer Paul Hurst explained the signing was a “gamble” but saw a player that wants to impress.
“He is well developed, he will, of course, get stronger but he has got the attributes that we’ve looked for and he gives us something different in that forward area than we currently have,” Hurst added.
“I felt that it was worth taking that risk as such, but also we are getting a player that is keen to impress, he is very humble but he is also very hungry to do well and hopefully he can show that and show his abilities in the Grimsby Town shirt”.
Town fans could see Bim make his debut tomorrow when Crewe travel to Blundell Park in the Carabao Cup.
Welcome to Blundell Park, Bim!
