Tragedy as fatality confirmed following M180 incident
Humberside Police have now confirmed that a man has sadly died following reports yesterday of a collision on the M180.
Shortly before 6 am yesterday (21 July), reports came in of a white Volvo HGV with a blue curtain trailer had left the road before coming to a stop.
“It was a lorry with multiple police investigators, and then 2 fire engines went past the crash.” an individual wrote on social media.
A reduced speed limit was put in place while the incident continued.
Emergency services were quick on the scene but sadly the driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased.
Humberside Police said: “A man has sadly died following a single vehicle collision on the M180, near to junction four, shortly before 6am this morning Thursday 21 July.
“We were called to reports that a white Volvo HGV with a blue curtain trailer had left the road before coming to a stop at the roadside.
“Emergency services attended however the man driving the vehicle was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
“His family have been informed and are being supported by officers at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances of the collision and we are appealing for anyone with information, or who saw the vehicle prior to the collision, to call 101 quoting log 126 of 21 July.”
