Frodingham Road street brawl results in multiple arrests
A street fight on Frodingham Road has resulted in multiple male suspects being arrested.
Humberside Police officers descended onto Frodingham Road, Scunthorpe, yesterday (11 July) evening following reports of a “large group fight.”
Officers arrived onto the scene at around 6:30pm following the reported altercation.
Subsequently, two male suspects were arrested on suspicion of affray. The pair both remain in police custody whilst further investigations are conducted.
The force stated a Section 35 dispersal notice has been put in place to prevent further incident, “this remains in place today,” Humberside Police added.
Three men needed medical assistance for treatment on injuries that are thought to be minor.
Detective Inspector Scott Miller, leading the investigation, said:
“I appreciate the concern that large scale public incidents of this nature can have on a community. I want to offer my reassurance that we do believe this to be an incident between individuals known to each other.
“Those in the area today will see extra officers, both carrying out enquiries and on hand to offer reassurance, and I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to them.
“We are also working closely with partner agencies to identify and implement suitable long term problem solving solutions to help prevent further anti-social behaviour in the area.
