Local care agency EMCAS formed after ‘mounting pressures’ on NHS services

A local duo has taken matters into their own hands after seeing the pressures on the ambulance service and A&E, with inadequate care providers in the area also.

They are both working in the Ambulance Service currently, and have taken it upon themselves to set up their own Care company, EMCAS. The company is also registered with the Care Quality Commission.

“Due to the mounting pressures on the ambulance service and long delays at A&E, and the lack of high-quality care providers in the Lincolnshire area, myself and a colleague (both of us actively working in the ambulance service) have set up our own Care company,” they said.

On their website, they say they have seen the weak points and failures of other services within the community and know what matters most to patients and our staff.

“We want to provide a close-knit, friendly, and family-orientated service that our clients and staff feel valued.

Mr Knight spoke further about the care agency and their ethos and understanding of its duty:

“What makes us different from other care services is that our senior management, myself my business partner, and our regional manager are all serving paramedics or Technicians with first-hand experience in emergency care and care needs within the community.

“We have seen how poor the quality of care is in the local area our care visits are all a minimum of 30min meaning our carers don’t have to rush in and out and it gives them time to actually have a conversation with the service users because most elderly people are lonely and we hate to see loneliness when there are so many people such as us who want to chat and make their day better.

“Most care companies that we know of in this area have a policy that stops care workers from picking someone up off the floor if they have fallen a so-called “no lift policy” However we are training all our staff to assist a person of the floor using the latest and safest techniques and equipment such as the Manga Elk lifting cushion as seen on the BBC ambulance show and used by the ambulance service.

“We have several services that prevent hospital admission and allow people to remain safely at the home of allows a safe discharge from hospital.”
