North Lincolnshire man announces second charity event following previous success
A North Lincolnshire resident has announced plans to throw a charity event following a successful outcome first time around!
Dec Marshall, who lives in Winterton, has confirmed he will throw a brand-new charity event following an incredible result during the “Pete Marshall Charity Match.”
Now, Dec has teamed up with the Winterton Rangers, who have agreed to host the event, for the “night only” charity initiative which will raise money for the Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
Speaking to Gi Scunthorpe News, Dec said it was “only right to do our part”, adding:
“After such a successful event last year raising £22k for Scunthorpe intensive Care unit and bringing the village together, we have decided to arrange round 2, this time raising money for Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
“Close friends of the family and community have recently suffered with cancer and it’s only right we do our part.”
During last year’s fund raiser, Dec managed to accumulate over £22,000, which enabled Scunthorpe’s Intensive Care Unit to purchase vital equipment to help treat patients.
In the announcement, Dec said he was “ready for round two”, adding:
“As most of you know, last year, Me, my family and close friends organised ‘The Pete Marshall Charity’ Match raising over £22k for the intensive care unit where he spent his final days.
“I have arranged a night only charity event kindly hosted by Winterton Rangers Football Club & Social Venue on Saturday 10th September, bringing a band in from Manchester who have never even heard of Winterton, never mind played here.
“Again, we will be holding another huge raffle and auction with proceeds going to Charity. Please get in touch with any kind donations which we can include within the prizes.”
“Tickets will be limited due to capacity at Rangers so will be first come first serve.

We will keep you updated with Dec’s progress!
