GTFC confirm Ryan Taylor will stay at the club!
GTFC have confirmed Ryan Taylor has signed a new contract with the Mariners.
Taylor made a total of 41 appearances last season, scoring 9 goals following his move from Newport County.
The 34-year-old continued to give his all for the Black and White Army during the promotion winning season, a notion evidenced via his important headed effort against Wrexham in the play-off semi-final.
Speaking to GTFC, Taylor said the it did not take him long to decide to stay with the Mariners, adding:
“After having a conversation with the Gaffer about signing for another year, it was a no brainer for me. I was delighted to finally get it done; especially after the year we had as a group and getting promoted the way we did.”
“If we can keep the bulk of the squad together, with a few new additions, I can’t see why we can’t go from strength to strength in League Two and that just adds to the excitement around next season.”
Paul Hurst said he was “really pleased” that Ryan has committed to another year with the club, stating:
“I think the deal works well for both parties. He was a big player for us last season, and while he might not be a prolific goal scorer, I think he helped the team in lots of ways.”
“His experience will be vital next season and he’ll be able to pass his knowledge on to the rest of the group. Ryan is a good character to have around so, again, I’m very pleased to have him with us next season.”
