Incredible scenes as local salon celebrates huge milestone!
It was an incredibly special day for a local salon as they celebrated a huge milestone together.
Last week, Chameleon Hair & Beauty, 73 Enderby Rd, celebrated 20 years of business in Scunthorpe, a huge milestone for all involved, especially owner Allie Drewery.
During an interview, Allie told Gi Scunthorpe News she opened her business just one year after finishing college. Additionally, Allie had not enrolled onto her college course straight after school, instead she began her studies at the age of 38, proving you are never too late to kick-start a new career.
Although Allie had no prior experience in business, or even working a full-time job, she wanted to make her dreams a reality, adding:
“I wanted to have something of my own rather than be part of someone’s else’s dream.” – A truly inspirational message that illustrates the hard work and dedication that Allie has exhibited throughout the years.
Although the business officially opened on Thursday June 2002, Allie and her wonderful colleagues decided to postpone celebrations until Saturday (18 June).
Although staff worked through the weekend, the salon provided glasses of fizz and delicious cake for their clients. Furthermore, the establishment had been engulfed in celebratory decorations, most notably seen in the presence of multi-coloured balloons, which emulated the businesses logo’s colour palette!
In an act of generosity, Allie tied several “prize cards” onto a dozen balloons a set them off, ready for Scunthorpe locals to find and claim their winnings!
“To spread a bit of happiness we did a thing…”
“Look out for our balloons released with a PRIZE card attached! If you find one.. then claim your prize on the card either here on the page or by calling in the salon with your lucky card!”
Congratulations again, Allie & Chameleon colleagues!
